Now a request: if fellow bloggers also use these gadgets, I would appreciate your comments on whether they have proven helpful to yourself and others.
We don't subscribe to or follow blogs via email notification; however, I check weekly for new posts. Thanks, in advance, for any comments.
Perhaps, you've heard the terms, widget, gadget and plug-in and been uncertain about the differences between them.
A widget is a piece of reusable code that can be inserted into almost any website. It is not proprietary and will work on any page that lets the user add HTML coding. You can put widgets on your blog, personal start page or personal website.
A gadget acts like a widget but it's proprietary. That means that it will only work on a certain website or a specific set of websites. Google gadgets are controlled by affiliated Google websites. This means for Google bloggers, a gadget only works on Google pages (even though it can act like a widget).
A plug-in is free downloaded software that can be installed as an add-on to a web browser allowing it to provide added content it was not originally designed to display. Examples of free plug-ins include: Macromedia Flash Player, which allows the web browser to display animations using the Flash format. Other popular ones are Quicktime Player and Acrobat Reader.

I have had it for years for one person who uses it. no one else has ever used it. I used to have 2 but one fell by the way side.
I get so much email already. I prefer the notices I get from Blogger to remind me when my favorite blogs have something new.
I've got it on my sidebar just in case, but I don't know if it's extensively used. I rely on my blogroll for what I follow, and tend to read back from where I left off the day before, or a few hours before. And I have a handful of blogs I follow on Wordpress that I access separately from my blogroll.
I activated it quite some time ago. One relative uses it but never comments except to remind me that he does read my blog this way.
I use both the email and the translate gadgets. Mostly my friends and family use the email to keep up with me. I post sporadically so they don't have to keep checking every day. I don't know if anyone else uses it. I have people in several countries who read me regularly and use the translate. One in Brazil and one in Italy I can think of off of the top of my head. I find both of them useful.
I've got the email one, but I don't know how much it gets used.
I have the translate and the email additions. I always enjoy going to International blogs and am always grateful when they add the translate feature. As for the email I am not sure how many people use mine.
In 2009 my eldest son arranged me this page and even until today i need him when any change is required .
thank you for sharing this information my friend .
reading you is provoking me to learn more about blog arrangements
I never email subscribe to blogs. My blog-roll shows me when there's a new update, so I visit like that as I can.
Loved seeing the Easter egg post!
