Thanksgiving is a day of celebration and giving thanks in the U.S. There are countless quotations about being thankful, many reflective and insightful.
It was particularly striking to read this quote attributed to the late President John F. Kennedy, especially as this month marks the 50th anniversary of his assassination.
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them” —John Kennedy
For us, It comes down to some simple words — thanks and gratitude.
We, Pat and Dorothy (Grenville & Beatrice here) are very grateful for all our blessings and thankful for family and friends, including all of you.
“The hardest arithmetic to master is that which enables us to count our blessings.” — Eric Hoffer

Thank you for the sentiments and that superb epitome of fall.
Amen ! Papa and I wish you both a Happy Thanksgiving !
Happy Thanksgiving...
I hope you have a better day than millions of turkeys. :)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! :)
Happy Thanksgiving!
Christer.
Lovely post and photo. And I really like the JFK quote. Happy Thanksgiving!
Exceptional photo of the golden glow of autumn as it should be on Thanksgiving. Great quotes too....enjoy your quiet feast day as we will...could not muster getting out at 7:30AM for the turkey trot across the river, it was only 23 degrees and as it is colder there in LaCrosse, I gave it a "bah" and stayed in......so, later on I mayget out for an independent trot to make room for all the over indulgences I plan for today. Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to you!!
I am grateful to be able to share life with friends from all over the world. I really enjoy you blogs. I hope you two had a great day of Thanksgiving and all that you share with others.
Hope you had a great day... and aren't too stuffed!
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your day has been blessed.
Hope your Thanksgiving was truly wonderful.
I'd not realise that it is actually celebrated on different dates in November (I had always though it was 30th November, but then what does a simple Aussie know?)
I do so envy you your autumn colours. We in Perth have few deciduous trees so not much colour here during March-May. In fact our autumn doesn't really exist. We sort of drift from being very hot into being moderately cool during winter. Our eastern states are very different in many ways, weatherwise.
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you both. :)
I hope you're having a good weekend.
