Gas prices seem to be on a downward trend in several of the eastern states we travelled through this weekend. Here’s some of the ranges spotted at stations from VA to NJ.
Since we are still lacking in fall colors on the VA eastern shore that we currently call home, these views were a wonderful treat as we were traveled north to our native New Jersey to visit my mom and a couple of dear friends. The roadside colors were nothing short of spectacular once the sun broke through clouds remaining from overnight rain.
Bright red and yellow foliage made for a wonderful day of travel.
As soon as we could, we left the main highway, and took back roads through several NJ towns. It was a very enjoyable trip to our destination.
Why is it that a tree sometimes gets in the way of a wonderful composition, when shooting photos from a moving vehicle? This would have been a wonderful red barn in autumn scene.

What glorious colors! I'm in California and it is not much for fall foliage at the beach.
I'd love to have those gas prices here; we tend to be more closer to $4.00 a gallon (though it is coming down here too).
Beautiful colors of the leaves! Thanks for sharing that with us. That, and only that (not the cold weather) is what I miss from falls when we lived in Montana :)

I stop everywhere to avoid the smears and intrusions. I hate power lines in pics. Drive by shootings have never worked for me.
Did you mention gas prices here? If so, I didn't catch it. Our tress are bare. It happens early here.

our gas is 3.23 and we were happy to see it...waiting for it to get lower.

All autumn colors are gone here now, just a few leafs still hang on to the trees but I guess it's just a matter of days before they fall too.
