Tuscany, a region in central Italy, has long been known for its landscapes, history, artistic legacy and foods. It's become one of the most popular destinations for travelers, including ourselves.
Freshly-made pizza could be found everywhere. Every street had one (or more) storefronts selling various types. We enjoyed a slice several times, usually followed by a gelato treat.
Despite so many choices for freshly-made pizza, here's⬆︎what was in a local supermarket.
Just like in a U.S. supermarket, there were rows of these products, so not all Italians make their own pasta and sauce.
Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone

Wine, cheese, fresh bread - life is complete!
...I haven't had my breakfast yet, the fresh pizza sure looks good!
Did you pack some of those goodies in your luggage to enjoy in the US?
I've already had breakfast, but you're still making me hungry.

It's sort of sad to see the supermarket packed with this stuff. I know it's dreamland to think they wouldn't be, but life is often filled with dreams!
Looks delicious, especially the fresh pizza.
Do you think their pizza was better than pizza here? Looks delicious! :)
Okay ... not fair. Now I'm hungry for really good pizza..even for breakfast... yumm

So funny, coming back from a treasure of history, art, writing, civilization and talking about -- food!!
Great pictures! lol
I'm not surprised with the pasta sauce, or French fries, but frozen pizza? That seems so wrong. I remember tasting pizza in Rome and then in Florence and they definitely weren't exactly the same, but both so good. Hope your colds go away soon. And enjoy this lovely weekend. hugs-Erika
I love seeing what their grocery stores look like!! They even have one brand that is sold here! So were any of the pizzeria pizzas a stand-put, or were they all comparable?
All I have to say is YUM. What a trip.
