Falling for Autumn

It's the first of September today, which meant that it was time for the autumn decorations to re-appear outside our apartment entry. (I was tired of looking at summer ones about now.)
All of these decos were purchased over the past several years from the local Dollar Tree store back when they actually cost $1. Today, of course, these would cost a bit more at $1.25. The scarecrows, pumpkins wall hangings will stay around with the permanent penguin and frog until holiday and snowman decos appear in future months.

At the rate this year seems to be rushing by, that won't be too long. Here's an eye-opener:
From today, Sept 1 to Dec 31— there's 122  days or 17 weeks, 3 days left in 2023.

We're thankful that several blogger FL friends and family were safe during the recent storm; but sad to read about those who did fare as well, especially in GA. Also, our condolences to the family of a friend who passed away from that sinister disease beginning with the letter "C."

This weekend, we're off on a new adventure that is not a road trip. Accordingly, blog reading and posting will be on hiatus for  a short time.

Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
Hug those close to you  &  ♥️ them; life is short

There are subtle hints of fall here, but I am eagerly looking forward to the first frost. I certainly won’t miss the obscene heat of summer and finally the wildfires in the north may be extinguished. Across the continent it’s one climate disaster after another.

We are seeing colour here and there. I am not thrilled about it -- not at this early time.

I'm never ready for Fall. Next week we're back in the 90s, so I guess the season isn't there yet either.

Seems early again this year. Even though it is my favorite season, it is weird for it to start so early. Lovely decorations. Enjoy your trip!

Seasonal decorations look good outside your apartment. I like turning the page of our kitchen calendar to see a pretty autumnal photo. Enjoy your trip.

It's strange to see Autumn decorations, since I spent the entire summer in the hospital.Hopefully I'll be able to savor Autumn when (IF) I get back home.Enjoy your new adventure!

Bon boyage however you may travel. Letting us wait till you return is perfectly fine with me...as long as you share when you get unpacked again! Love the Dollar store decorations, and I certainly did lots of my purchases there back when I did decorate. That has no longer interested me after years of decorating for my work at senior situations.

Starting today and through next week we are in the mid to upper 90s, so no autumn here. Enjoy your trip.

Enjoy the next journey. Keep moving out there as winter is coming. I like all the colors of your decorations. I understand how collections happen over the years which is why I have five Christmas trees to fill as I keep buy dollar ornaments. Be careful out there and enjoy.

Not a road trip? Okay, then what? Planes, Trains, but no automobiles? Can't wait to hear what it is and where you go. I know this is a beautiful time of year in your neck of the woods. We used to always travel to NH and Maine in the first week of October for our grandson's birthday. I miss going there then...and also to Fryeburg Fair. Anyway, thank you for thinking of us here in FL., who did survive Idalia. We are very thankful that she bypassed our area, but our thoughts and prayers go out for those along the coast and in other areas who did not fare so well. I just pray this will be the first and the last of the hurricanes for this season. I am so ready for fall, but I haven't put out any decor yet. Like you, I have a lot of stuff from Dollar Tree. I hope to get it out maybe early next week. We shall see. have a wonderful time doing whatever you do. We'll look forward to hearing from you on the other side.

Happy autumn! We've had a miserable summer here in Northern Ireland, though we're due for a heat wave in the next few days. Better late than never!

You are so right. Time is flying past. The older We get the faster it goes and the harder it gets to fit lots into the day. Have a good break.

We are looking forward to Fall, too, especially the first hard frost that will kill off the mosquitos. Take care during your new "adventure."

I'm a little late, but nice decor. I've wanted to get mine out all week, but it's too hot to go up into the attic. Hopefully this weather will cool down a bit this weekend. I am ready for fall. :) Hope you've stayed cool this week. hugs-Erika
