I guess it doesn't need much soil to grow from. We had plants like that in our pastures where the milk cows were kept. We call them cow tails but they are not. The flower dries out into a stalk with a dried see dhead like a cat tail shape.
Add my cheers for the plant! It does not know or care that it is doomed, it just reaches for the light and life. May we all be encouraged by this innocent green friend.

What a find!
You have to give that plant credit for its determination! :) Enjoy your weekend!
I love it when plants spring up like that!
Such a funny photo.
I knew Mullein would grow just about anywhere...but taking root on the side of a brick building is very impressive!
How on earth does that happen? I passed a building some days ago where one could see a plant growing up out of the roof.

I think the watering is taken care of.

What a great picture! I guess it doesn't need much soil or water.
Too too funny... Enjoy it cause it wont last the winter. Hugs, LJ
I was expecting to see a bunch of ivy growing on that lovely brick ... but a single plant like that is very unusual.
Its amazing where a seed can fall and grow but when you plant one it often doesn't.
And they are not even Native to this continent!
