She sent us a list of school supplies a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time shopping for everything on the list: notebooks, pencils, erasers, stapler, highlighters, crayons, scissors, folders. Hint: it's a lot easier and way less costly buying supplies for a 3rd grader than a high school or college student! (We're saving now for that time.)
On our return home from our Cape Cod anniversary weekend, we made a quick stop in RI and rendezvoused at a Dunkin Donuts near the grandkid's home. Of course, his sister had to check everything out, but she doesn't enter pre-school until next fall, so no supplies for her yet.
A happy pair posing together, grandson and grandpa.
This serious moment for both grandkids is a definite rarity.
Vote Today if there's a primary election in your town. We have one in Nashua, NH, to narrow down the mayoral field from 6 to 2 candidates. This is a sharp contrast to the small VA Eastern Shore town we formerly lived in where sometimes only 1 (or no one) ran for town mayor and a write-in candidate could and did win on election day.

I take e non-school age grands out and get some art supplies just for fun. This year it was picking out some good books.
I like the serious photos of both our beautiful grand kids... and so true on the difference in supplies when they are older.
Very nice of you to buy school supplies for your grandson.
Lovely photos . Yup the kiddies here are also on their first day back to school today . I remember the days of school supply's a lot cheaper then then it is now . Thanks for sharing . Have a good day !
Great pictures! Good luck to Bobby as he starts back to school.
I can honestly say that I do not miss the days of school shopping. But I do miss the anticipation I felt when I was a child. I liked school and always looked forward to a new year.
Your grandkids are both so cute! I hope Bobby likes school. It was so nice of you to buy the supplies!
Fun shots of the kids!
Hello dear friend! I finally made it over here to see you. No elections in our town..at least not yet.
Those are some pretty children!! My little grands have black eyes too! Just beautiful!!
They do grow quickly. Sometimes too quickly, it seems.
First day of school here, too. Can't believe I got suckered into teaching again. sigh. But it is at the college, so it won't be too bad. Give me a chance to use up old supplies I hadn't managed to throw out yet...
Good luck to Bobby! My, 3rd grade!
I remember him in a stroller!
Best wishes for Bobby's school year. Great photos of both Bobby and Ellie. Wishing you two a very nice day today.
