It's always celebrated on the third Sunday in June and this year coincides with the Summer Solstice.
To learn more about the holiday check out the History website.
Our fathers have been gone for many years, but we celebrate them on their day — and remember them always.
My dad, Anthony, is shown with myself and brother. As you can see, this photo was taken on a celebration day (1st Communion). My dad would have celebrated his birthday last week.
This collage (prepared several years ago) shows Pat's dad, Robert, with his sister and wife.
If you are so fortunate as to have your father, stepfather, grandfather or other significant male relative or friend in your life, call him/them today. You will all have a GREAT Day.

I think we celebrate father's day in late October or early november. I'm not sre I've never celebrated it.
Have a great father's day Grenville!
Christer.
Wonderful memories...:)JP
Super memory in the first, and I like the collage. The final, present day photo is perfect.
I'm glad you have such wonderful memories of your father and time enjoyed with him.

Have a beautiful day and great week!
Hello Gwen, thanks for your first-time visit to our blog and your comment, both were very much appreciated. I will be sure to drop by your website for a visit as well.
I miss my father.
Very precious photos you have shared. Have a lovely evening.
Wonderful photos and a great reminder to appreciate our Dads while they are still with us.
Great photos and memories! I hope you both had a nice day.
Our fathers are dead now, but our two daughters called David to wish him a Happy Fathers Day.
That is a cute photo of you when you were a child.
Never knew my father. He abandoned the family under very bad circumstances when I was 6 months old. Fortunately. we had a strong mother. Still, it would have been nice to have a good father. It would be nice if every person could have one. What a difference in the world it might make.
I especially love the last photograph. Hope you had a good Father's Day.
Thanks for sharing the photos, and the memories!
