What a Difference

A couple of days of rain and a day of temperatures near 60 degrees can sure make a difference in making snow and ice go away.

This was the view from our apartment window early Sunday morning.

Quite a difference from the view a week earlier on January 5.

Cold weather is returning this week, but there's no snowfall in the forecast, just some snow showers by mid-week.

Hope the weather is improving in your part of the world as well.

Hopefully, that was our standard January thaw and we can get on with our regularly scheduled winter now. I dislike rain in winter.

We were away for a few days, and amazed upon our return, by how much melting has happened! It sure is cold out today, but I was thankful that the sidewalks were finally clear for my morning puppy walk.

Both photos are attractive.

We are below freezing all this week in the morning hours. No snow though!

I see the river is still frozen! I hope it doesn't get as cold and snowy as before. Keeping my fingers crossed. Here, first signs of spring are everywhere. Snowdrops are emerging all around us.

We had something of a thaw for a day or two, but the temperatures dropped again and the snow returned to replenish whatever had been lost.

Wild changes in weather are sometimes difficult to take. We like our weather a little more stable.

Well we have to get used to extreme changes in weather. That's what they write in certain predictions for 2018. Let's hope these predictions are wrong, and that the weather is going to be mild, letting us enjoy nature and the outdorrs.

When I read about weather conditions elsewhere in the world I am grateful that I live in the middle of a smallish island.

Sure looks better covered in snow!

The weather has been up and down so much in the last couple of weeks, we don't know what to expect next! I'm already ready for spring.

Amazing difference. We had snow here this week. I was lucky enough to have a snow day off yesterday. It's not the snow so much as that we can't drive on it in the south after it re-freezes. :)
