Of course, I was curious to learn more and wondered if this meant the company would be re-branding coffee for condo owners, RVers or even full time boaters. Why not?
The limited-edition Maxwell Apartment coffee debuted this year on September 29, National Coffee Day. A bundled 4-pack 27.5 ounce canisters was sold exclusively online (Amazon) for $39.99 under $10 each. (By comparison, Amazon listed the same 27.5-ounce canister of Maxwell House coffee at $13.)

Here's what the company claimed — that the renamed canisters would provide a year’s supply of coffee to apartment dwellers saving over $1,000 compared to coffee shop purchases. That might depend on what coffee shop and what size cup of coffee. In our apartment home, we often enjoy two cups especially in winter, and we offer coffee to guests without restrictions. So, this would not be an annual supply for us.
The offer included a Maxwell Apartment lease, but I couldn't find an example to include here. Of course, there was no way to limit buyers to just renters and there's no actual landlord. But, this was all part of the marketing gimmick promo.

None of this matters to Patrick and myself as this ↑ is our preferred coffee brand. As the brand’s 1984 created slogan goes, The Best Part of Wakin' Up Is Folgers in Your Cup ☕️ at least in our apartment home.

I got into French Roast, or Dark Roast a while ago, and I think the red canister is Folgers. But just as long as I have a hot cuppa in the morning, I'm happy! With honey.
...I saw this yesterday, seems strange to me.
I thought this was such a dumb name change. Especially since the other two thirds ARE homeowners. Are you saying this is only a temporary name change? We have a Keurig machine because we each like different kinds of coffee. And we can get a cup in less than a minute. I love the cinnamon dolce and mocha mint.
The name doesn’t resonate with me, but no doubt they did market studies. I am drinking my second cup of Belgian Chocolate as I type this. It’s very expensive, I may have to switch to something cheaper.
I’ve not seen this but it’s one of the worst marketing schemes I’ve ever heard 🤣 I buy the cheapest flavored decaf I can find.
I just don't see spending that much time thinking about coffee. I enjoy one mug in the morning, fresh ground, pourover, easy. Whatever coffee from Misfits fits my budget. Hilarious to imagine people drink coffee to fit their homes.
I had no idea about this. Pretty cool to jump in the way back machine and see what adverts were. Last the entire lease. What a hoot.
I do not like coffee. My favorite tea is Earl Grey.
We buy coffee beans processed by a Canadian company and grind them each morning. It's really good coffee. We know this, not because of our own judgement, but it is almost routine for people who stop by for a coffee and one of Miriam's muffins to say, "This is really good coffee!"
I don't drink coffee, but my hubby does, and thankfully he is happy with whichever one was on sale at the time of purchase. We go between Maxwell House and Folgers, both medium or regular blend. The cost of coffee has skyrocketed lately, with a regular size container selling anywhere from 13.00 to 20.00 dollars or more, depending on the store. It's crazy! So I stock up when I see it on sale. I'm glad he doesn't care about the more gourmet coffees! We'd be broke!
We buy dark roasted coffee beans from a long-established local coffee and tea merchant. Our favoured drink is tea but we have a couple of cups of coffee a day. And coffee beans are much cheaper than instant coffee (which we loathe).
I guess I have been living under a rock. I never heard of Maxwell Apartment coffee before. It just has an "off" sound to the name. What does it mean would be my question if I saw this on the shelf.
I am the only one in my family that drinks coffee so I go for the cheapest and do like the dark roast of Yuban the very best.
What an interesting post. Thanks for showing it.
Enjoy your weekend with Folger's in your cup and catching up on things at "home".

I don't drink coffee. Never developed a taste for it. I do love the smell. This was an interesting look at coffee.
I'm not a coffee drinker, but my parents used to get Maxwell House. I saw this with their limited edition blend on the news. I wonder if it was just labeling or something was really different with the coffee. And funny how it's sold out so fast. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the nice weather we're going to get. It will soon but chilly all the time. :)
Love my coffee, but I buy beans and grind them. Prefer dark roasts like Sumatra and French Roast, but try many different kinds. My latest favorite brand is Peace coffee made in Minneapolis, MN--love their Tree Hugger coffee. :)
I don't drink coffee. I tend to like Constant Comment decaff and Earl Grey most of all.
I won't say how much coffee I drink everyday but I can assure you this would not come close to lasting a year in my not apartment. I like dark roast.
I'm not a huge coffee drinker preferring tea.
However, I do keep a jar of instant coffee in the cupboard for family/friends who visit and prefer coffee.
All the best Jan
We have a coffee machine and grind our own beans. We like coffee from Papua New Guinea
I am wondering if this new branding really sold out or if it didn't go over well-sounds like it could be confusing to the buyer.
I have to drink decaf as any caffeine spikes my b/p fast. for Larry I have always purchased whole beans usually organic dark roast and grind the coffee here at home-fresher taste. I purchase a huge white bag of organic beans by Camerons from Sam's club if buy from the store I buy 8 O'clocks dark roast beans.
For me most decaf coffee beans still have caffeine in them sadly but I did find an organic freeze dried that has no caffeine. I usually drink different teas though sorry for the long comment happy Sunday Kathy
Thanks for interesting and knowledgeable sharing dear Dorothy 🥰
For me the name of coffee is new but have read it online though.
I found this tradition of coffee company to offer coffee to people with less income in apartments .I think it’s a step very rare and taken by few hardly which sounds great and appreciable 👍
Being from hotter part of land we use coffee during peak season of the winter only which lasts hardly for one to two months.and here we are familiar with one brand available in the city which is Nescafe
Blessings ♥️
