Here's a strange sidewalk scene where one ladder was not enough as seen in this photo taken in Juneau, AK.
It was helpful that a path was left between the ladders. Even so, we did not see anyone walking through it at the time, including ourselves. Most folks seemed to steer clear even though they wouldn't be walking under the ladders.
Enjoy Your Weekend, Everyone
We're having warm temps and a lack of rainfall — early Indian Summer?
Indian Summer isn't the best terminology, given the history of the term Indian in North America. The term is thought to have originated here in New England. It most likely arose from the practice of native Americans gathering winter stores at this time. This period usually marks a timeframe of dry, unseasonably warm weather in Autumn. The term first appeared in New England in the 18th century and was noted in regions that were then inhabited by American Indians.
Other terms have been used to describe this weather occurrence. Europeans and British use St. Martin’s Summer, which references St. Martin’s Day, November 11, as the official start of late unusually warm days; a British equivalent is All-hallows summer. Second Summer is a popular term used by the American Meteorological Society.

It seems to be not so much an early Indian Summer as a continuation of a very hot, unpleasant summer. Yesterday the temperature here was 27 degrees C, which would be excessively hot even in July. I can’t wait for the first frost!
...we are enjoying beautiful weather, but it doesn't fit the definition of Indian Summer yet.
We finally got a long rain here last night-we so needed it still high temperatures too Happy Friay
We call it an "Indian Summer" - I don't know what. Great pics.. thanks
I have enjoyed fresh air and sunshine, and getting a bit warmer during the day lately. Cool nights are wonderful here.
September here has been wonderful, rain at night, sunny and warm in the day, cool enough overnight to sleep. I can take a lot of this.
From. the angle of your ladder picture it doesn't seem like enough room to walk between them.
I'm more afraid of heights than bad luck. I'll risk walking under the ladders. Sept. has been pleasant here in TN. Mild temperatures but frequent thunderstorms. Jon
I want Maxine!
Weather region that we share but y’all down there in NH seem to get more rain than up here. Drought here is a serious problem.
Have a good weekend!
We are in the midst of 12 (?) days of no rain. We need rain. But I hope it doesn’t rain, when you are here. The leaves are really popping Autumn colors, and we haven’t had a hard freeze yet. I believe there will be color, when you visit .
Maxine is a really fashionable senior! The ladders, I would not walk near them either. Not because of superstition, but because there is likely work being done up high and I would fear something falling on me. Maybe they were on a lunch break. I would have been tempted to wait their return and quiz them!!
Oh, I love those Maxine figures..too cute.
i'm not superstitious but probably would not walk under those ladders. That's not a whole lot of space to go through. Workers must have been on a break..

Love those Maxine figures ❤️ The weather has been beautiful and comfortable here in Montreal.
Don't you just love those Maxine figures ... they just bring a smile :)
All the best Jan
Cute Maxine! She's such a character! Yeah, I'd avoid the ladders too. We are having kind of an early fall for us here in Florida...this past week was really nice for September, low humidity and nice cooler mornings and breezy afternoons. But normally we should be having hurricanes this time of year here. I'm thankful we haven't had any, but we definitely need the rain. Hope you enjoy your warmer days while they last...I know what winter is like in NH. LOL.
I'm planning to have a great weekend.
Surprising that they left those ladders!
