Where the Sidewalk Ends (Shel Silverstein)
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

So you have to street walk, HA!
I don't know If should laugh or cry. ͡๏_͡๏
to funny, i don't think there will be any walking on this sidewalk... hope it all melts soon
I have always loved this poem. Your picture is a fine example of deep winter snow... a good reason to stay inside and off the sidewalk.
yes, but we can't even see where you sidewalk begins. That is a lot of snow. I have always enjoyed the work by Silverstein. The illustrations that they create for the works are fun to see. I especially like the one where she never takes out her garbage.
I'd read that poem somewhere years ago.
That is quite a pile of snow!
I'm so glad we haven't that much snow here :-)
Have a great day!
Christer.

I think that's when the sidewalk becomes a ground for snowball fight.
