Red Barn in Autumn

Unlike the red barn in a previous post which had a tree blocking the view, this drive-by shot turned out perfect with no obstructions.
It doesn’t get much better — a colorful barn in autumn weather — or does it?

Here are some variations of the same photo with special effects applied in Picasa — Lomo-ish, HDR-ish, Orton-ish, 1960s, posterize, neon.

Do you prefer the original or applied special effects?

So very pretty! The last blast of color of Autumn is so welcome when we know a grey, black, and white winter is just around the corner. Lovely image and treatments of it.

i like the second one, i think that is HDR.. that tree is almost touching the barn and I am wondering why they planted one so close to it. it is a beautiful barn and a great shot to play with

The original photo is really nice, but I too, like playing with filters and special effects, so I like them all!

Who doesn't love a great old red barn??? Hard to believe this is a drive by, it turned out great. I think I like the first one best of all. Fun to visit again and see that you are still up to your old tricks. OBTW, I've started posting on a limited basis again.

I love red barns in any type of weather. This one is a beauty and I like your different looks, but my fave would have to be the original.

I like the original best.
As You know I see red barns and houses every where here :-) But they do stand out so much better now in autumn and perhaps even more when snow cover the ground.

Have a great day!
Christer.

I love the original and really like the second one down under the special effects. But they are all fun to look at.

I like the first one. I know people love these photo-shopped images but I like real life too much!
Aren't the autumn colors beautiful? :-)

I'll go with the HDR version on this one as it brings out the barn detail the most. It's a pretty mildly processed HDR, so I don't mind it at all.

All are great pictures. Being a rural =type girl I like barns. That last picture was other-worldly and I love it!

I like the original picture without the special effects, its a great scene with the red barn! Nicely done with the pictures.

In this case the tree really adds to the picture instead of detracting. I like the original photo best--it's really a great image. The second of the altered photo is a close second though as it brings out the details. I have a lot of fun playing around with filters, and they can really improve on a not-so-good photo, but often the original just can't be beat.
