Our Christmas family visits typically come before or after the holiday largely because of scheduling and distance. This first 2013 road trip has included stops in PA and RI, which is where the
grandkids live. And, of course, our visit would not be complete without the delivery of holiday gifts from family members in PA, Tia Coleen and Tio Paulo and of course, Grandpa and Grandma. The RI tree and home-made gingerbread house were there for us to enjoy cause you MUST put gifts under a tree.
Our visit started with a full day of babysitting Ellie; big brother Bobby was back in school on the day we visited. There was nap time with Grandpa . . .
Later in the day, we watched Bobby at his karate class. He's very proud of his recently awarded white belt.
That pink and purple bicycle shown in the Santa's (Extra) Sleigh post found it's way to the intended recipient, granddaughter Ellie, who hasn't quite yet mastered the concept of pushing pedals . . .
MORE gift opening came after dinner was done and jammies put on — like many kids, Ellie and Bobby are pros at this annual event . . .
Before bedtime, there was time for family photos with dad Roberto, Grandpa, and mom Shannon.
Somehow, I missed a lot of "photo ops" (hazards of being the photographer). But, we still have a couple of visit days left in New England before heading to the next stop, NJ, so maybe this weekend will be MY chance (?).
