This Bite’s for You

Grenville told me that that some fellow bloggers would REALLY like to share one of his wonderfully delicious tomato sandwiches.  Soooo, get very close to the screen cause he’s made a special ‘mater sandwich for Everyone in blog land.

tomato sandwich (5)
This treat is from tomatoes, picked early today from the tomatoes fresh picked0711F&P
veggie garden — LOTS of nice VERY RED and juicy ones.

Grenville is a master at making and eating these sandwiches and always uses lots of mayo and (sometimes) adds bacon.  We know many folks like theirs on white bread; we prefer ours on toasted oat-nut bread.tomato sandwich (7)

Did it taste good?

SURE did for us !

Sorry, you couldn’t join us cause he would have made one for you.

MAYBE next time?

You know how to torture someone, I tried to lick the screen but.... just messed up my screen.

I had not plans to go to the farmers market with dilated eyes from the dr visit later this afternoon but now I will just to get some tomatoes.

Drooling.

Oh my word....That looks sooooo good! I have a tomato (not one we've grown, sadly)on my counter. Guess what I'm gonna do =)

Mmmm, nothing better than homegrown tomatoes! I include those from the farmers market in that category, although I have a couple that are just about ready to eat on my own plants. The way I figure it, the best sandwiches start with luscious tomatoes, and then you just add whatever else inspires you. Last night we added bacon and lettuce with mayo and mustard and came up with yummy, just like Grenville's.

Oooooh ... oat nut bread ... now that sounds REALLY yummy. What? No onion? What's a mater sandwich without onions????? Not stinking ... that's what ... but hey, I'm a widow so who cares!

Oh wow. My tomatoes are still green but when they are ripe I will make one too and maybe take a photo too. Yum.

If you'd told me as a kid that I'd LOVE tomato sandwiches I'd never have believed it!

I've eaten many this month, but aren't the least bit tired of them! Delicious!!

oh my mouth is watering. For the 2nd year we have no garden, it was either travel or tend the garden, so you know which we took. But I love nothing more than a tomato freshly picked and tomato sandwiches as a very fave of mine, I can do with just tomato and bread or lots of mayo, pepper and a good slab of onion too. Drooling here!
