Steeple UP

We missed this Event — Heavens — an apt word under the circumstances.

Awhile back, the steeple of the Onley Baptist Church was removed. The church is located “downtown” at the intersection of the town’s two main roads: Main St and Coastal Blvd. It’s nearly in the “center” of town IF we had a town center, which sadly we do not now, but back in the day . . . that’s another story.

Anyway, the old steeple was taken down after being damaged during a storm and deemed unsteady.

AFTER  its removal, a new fiberglass steeple was delivered and put on the ground near the church. BUT, a sudden windstorm the next week caused it to topple over and crack. AFTER repairs, it sat for well over a month while waiting for a crane to lift it in place.

THEN, there it was UP and we missed seeing it happen, but it’s where it should be now.

Looks nice! But isn't it typical that the wind knocked it over so it cracked :-)

Have a great day!

That's a really nice looking church. We have a Methodist church here that has the steeple sitting in the front yard of the church. I'd like it better if it were up where it belonged, but there's some reason it can't be up there.

I kind of remember the coming down party.
