May I . . .

DSCF4687As in the 1st day of a new month.

Did you all remember to change your calendars? OK those of us – like myself – who still write on a wall calendar. There’s one in our kitchen and I’ve already started filling in THIS month’s events. Grenville schedules his activities on an iPod, but I prefer the old-fashioned way of using a paper calendar. How about you?

We didn’t have a lot of those April showers, but the May flowers seemed to come regardless. There’s a colorful palette of blooms  in the The Frog & PenguINN flower beds. Here are some whites . . .

Cute riddle for Sandra!
I love all your flowers, especially the purples/pinks.
I believe your "unknown" flowers are Dianthus or "pinks"; named because the edges looked like they were cut with pinking shears! If you smell of them, they have a clove-like scent!

Beautiful, as are the magnolia blooms in the last post! I am looking forward to seeing some blooms here, but first we need to get a few leaves. The pussy willows are out, and there are buds on the trees, but the grass is not green yet and everything looks pretty brown. That will change before too long though.

Such beautiful May flowers! I have a paper calendar right here on my computer desk; don't trust my memory anymore! I have way to many Sr. moments these days!

Beautiful!
As said before those unknown flowers are Dianthus and I think they are Dianthus barbatus, something many of us here in Sweden have in our flowerbeds :-) I love them and don't want to be without them.

Have a great day!
Christer.

A month of total beauty all around. I LOVE this time of year.
Um, don't ask any Native Americans that Mayflower joke. They might have a different slant on it.

I love the poppys. I see them all over the place around here, except in my yard!

My mind went to 'June Brides'...but Pilgrims is sooo much funnier =) Thanks for the chuckle this morning!

THANKS Mildred, I knew the name was somewhere in my memory, but could NOT think of it until you told me. They do look like a pinking shears was used on them!

Hi Teresa, glad you enjoyed these. The orange poppies are a first this year and so striking.

Ah Christine, I know this senior moments myself.

Thanks Steve, enjoyed your recent days outings as well.

Possum, a wonderful and colorful month. The joke was just for a specifi blogger friend and no offense was meant.

Morning Doris, forgot about the June brides, but I know that is what's coming up in your family!

Cute riddle! Love the flowers. I miss our Lilies of the Valley. We had plenty of them when we moved in here 34 years ago, but they were trampled by some darling children who are now grow up with darling children of their own. ;)

Thanks AC, your blooms are much later.

Lois, lots of lilies of the valleys that we transplanted from NJ and they multiplied here. No kids or grandkids to trample.

Your flower collages are so pretty, Beatrice. I'm like you and prefer to keep track of things on a paper calendar. And yes, I did remember to turn onto the next page. :)
