Friday Funnies

AS SEEN ON TV . . .

We don’t have paid subscription services such as cable, dish or satellite at The Frog & PenguINN  by choice. But that doesn’t matter cause while walking around a Lancaster, PA mall we found this AS SEEN ON TV store. It was FULL of all STUFF we we were missing out on ! We managed to get outta there without spending a cent. Later, when we stopped at a Staples store in Salisbury, MD we got another chance . . .

seen on TV collageAgain, we escaped – and when we collected our mail we found that Publisher’s Clearing was giving us another chance for MORE perfectly useless STUFF . . .

seen on TV collage2Wondering WHO buys this STUFF – have any of you?

Well if it's been seen on TV it's got to be good . . . right? I'm with you, still living with an antenna in the attic and for the most part perfectly happy with it.

Nope - don't buy any of that stuff. We're happy with what we have.

But you MUST buy all of it, it has been seen on TV, hasn't it? That's what's wrong with this country today, too many people questioning the wisdom of the businessmen! :-o

i don't buy off TV shows or the things they advertise, dont watch the advertisements, we use our DVR and fast forward through the junk. the only thing i bought is OxyClean, saw it years ago and can't live without it. it is the only ad i have ever seen that what was said was true.
I love TV and love movies and love cable. We first purchased it for bob to watch Sports, football and racing and now tennis. he loves all the sports, so we got the wide screen 47 inch TV and now i don't want to watch the tiny screen. we watch a couple of hours each night and would be lost with out it.

Really? I have an antenna and watch the news, jeopardy, NCIS so I can drool over Mark Harmon, and the Big Bang Theory so I can laugh. Then I watch Northern Exposure on DVD or unplug the set and read.
But I have no idea what all that stuff is.

Nope. But my mother was a sucker for many of those things.

Loved your Easter trip!

But, gee, we would love to buy it all, but when we are at sea we can't "Call NOW!" No, just kidding.

I was just thinking of those stores the other day. I haven't seen one in a long time, and I never made a purchase when I did see them.

That's a good thing for us that doesn't have all those channels, we save a lot of money because we really don't know anything about those things they sell :-) :-) :-)

And no, I have never bought anything of that stuff :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

Not I, said the goose! :)
HOW in the world are you! I am a terrible bloggy friend and have the worst time getting around!
Overcast and cloudy but at least the heavy rains have subsided.
I was all into fixing up the patio..and then Spring turned back into Winter and confused my little pea brain!
Hugs to you both!
Mona

Scott, same here with an antenna in the attic too, but reception is so iffy with it that we never turn the TVs on...and don't miss them.

Mona, we totally agree!

Welcome Kay and your comments show WHY not watching TV is a great thing...maybe moe folks should try going without?

Sandra, I agree with you about the old movies. It's a great reason for going to the "Y" cause they have TCM on the montiros on the cardio equipment so I get the best of both - classic films and exercise. I have a Netflix account to watch movies (online only) and now TCM has a paid app for the ipad and I'm thinking about it but most likely will just keep thinking about it (for awhile). Never tried OxyClean and now you can biuy it in some stores "as seen on TV" of course.

Nezzy, sorry to read about your sister's "addiction" to this TV stuff. You have a wonderful weekend too!

JP, same here except i recently did send back the stuff for publishers clearing house sweepstakes but without ordering anything and there were some of these "as seen on TV" ads in the package. Guess I won't win cause I didn't buy anything...

Possum, that stuff is mostly junk as far as we could see by what was in that store.

NCmountainwoman, thanks for the comment and we loved our Easter road trip (couldn't you tell?)

Lois, good reason to stay at sea, besudes the fun you always have. Thanks for always sharing your adventures.

AC, funny but I never think of these places cause there's none near us although one local stores does have a small area with some of these items.

Christer, good for you cause you are NOT missing anything, trust us on this one.

Hi Mona, nice to have you visist and comment again as you were missed. Hope the rains let up soon. Weather here was cool when we returned home, but improved by the end of the week - enough to cut the lawn and do a little planting.

One of our drug stores has an "as seen on TV" section. I like to peruse the stuff they show there, but to my recollection, I have never purchased anything. I have enough "stuff" without adding more. LOL!

I could do without TV but hubby has to have satellite TV and is parked in front of it every evening.
