Easter Grand Road Trip

brown bunny closeupYes,  we’re hopping down the bunny trail and heading on our first road trip this year – another holiday visiting one since our 2011 post-Christmas trip. Our travels will take us through several east coast states with family stops in  NJ, RI, CT, and PA and we’re looking forward to meeting fellow blogger, Doris, in PA. All these stopovers and visits will take about a week of road tripping bunny hopping.

Granddaughter Elizabeth (Ellie) is Ellie1 040212nearly 8-1/2 months old and, we might add, getting cuter since we last saw her in Dec, but then we are the besotted grandparents.

Here’s a recent photo her mom sent via her iPhone (wonders of technology). There’s not an updated photo of grandson Bobby. But, y’all KNOW we will take new photos of both grandkids during our 2-day visit with them in RI.

Planned activities include Easter egg coloring; this time, Bobby is older and knows that the colored water is NOT for drinking. Grandpa Grenville will surely give pointers on how to cover a hard boiled egg with mayo before eating it – is there any other way?

Easter Sunday will bring an egg hunt with surprises that do NOT involve sweets. Elizabeth is too young and Bobby doesn’t need more sugar to get him energized. Besides, it was fun searching local thrift stores for surprises that include a DVD movie, kite, toy tractors (green ones, of course) and toy cars. Later, we all go to visit family in CT.

A first for Grenville and myself on this road trip is being without our notebook PCs. Instead, we’re toting books we’re currently reading. Now that we both have iPads, we’re going to catch up on blog reading. We may attempt a post or two, but text only as blog posting and iPads do NOT go play well together.

Hoppy Easter to Everyone
