Grenville’s Favorite Lunch

hot dog (2)

Can you tell where we stopped for lunch last week?

This is one of Grenville’s  favorite lunch stops.
hot dog

Some HINTS . . . .

It’s not a restaurant, and not a take out or fast food place.

It’s an eatery within a very large store.

At $2 USD, it’s a bargain lunch – 2 hot dogs, bag of chips and a drink with (free) refills.

For $1 more, you can get this treat or a yogurt cone . . .cinnamon bun

MORE hints, the colors of this place are distinctive, included in this post, and can never drove by these stores without stopping in, and we’ve posted about it.

SO, where do YOU think we stopped?

Wherever you stopped, did you see My Honey in there? Nah, he was (and I was) eating something close to that here at home yesterday. We took a day off of fancy grilling and had sour kraut and sausage. Yum.

no idea but I would love all of it and wish we had one here.

Hmmm ... I think I know ... but how do I tell you without giving it away. It's a huge place with decent and decently priced eats. You have mentioned before that you like to eat there. Right?

Anvilcloud said...

Oh, and we do have them in Canada. :)

Mayabe CostCo's? We have eaten the hotdogs there but I don't remember the dessert. Think I would have ordered one of those :)

Wow, what a deal for your two. It would have been fun.

I have no idea :-) But I don´t think any one ever have chips to their hotdogs over here. I´ve never seen that in my entire life :-)

Have a great day!

Well, yeah, I know where you were, having heard about their $2 hotdog lunch before. However, you two are the only people I know who have ever eaten there or even bought furniture there... never heard of it before you. But then I am not into eating hotdogs...
A yogurt cone might be nice.

BTW, Grenville, I will be serving blueberry pie at the board mtg tomorrow night. Save room...

Sams? I know they have a food court. I dont remember if our Costco's does so I have to say Sams.

Then then it could be a WM or Target super store?

There, I think I have covered all the bases...

Oh my gosh that's so cheap and it looks delicious

I know it's one of the many places we don't have here in Fairbanks. With that guess I know I'll be right.

WOW lots of great comments; THANKS everyone for playing along with this guessing post.

Elaine (Country Gal) YES, they DO have these places in Canada and BC, as AC correctly posted. Sorry you can't enjoy any of these items and neither should we...back to watching (more carefully) what we eat now that the road trip is over.

Lois, you meal sounded delicious to us too.

Sandra, there's one of these places in Orlando, FL if you live anywhere near there and want to go for lunch.

Denise & Tammy, nope NOT Costco's or Sam's but good trys :-)

Larry, it was fun even when we don't buy anything else in the store, which is usually very rare.

Christer, wait until you see the name of this place. The largest one is in Kungens Kurva in Skärholmen, south of Stockholm, home base for this mega-chain of stores. It opened in 1965.

Sara & Possum, Yes, figured you would both know since you know our habit so well.

Welcome back, Carole (Country Mouse) nice to hear from you. Hope all is well with you.

Mona (Montana Girl) & Elaine (Artic View) sorry, there are none of these places anywhere in Alaska or Montana. So, the next time you go on a road trip, check out their locations and drop into one!

The food sure does look yummy but I don't recognize the place.

Really! That place :-) I would never have guessed that :-) :-) :-)

Christer.

Just browsing throu some of your back blogs that I missed...oh Jerry a;ways liked hot dogs at Sam's, in CA; our local Sam's here does not use the same brand. They were all beef kosher. I am not a hot dog fan, but do like a Nathan's now and then. Have no Ikea close by so he has not tried those.
