BUT That’s Not ALL!!!!!

One of our favorite places to go in the afternoon is the Sugar Shack… a place we are avoiding this year since we both would like to lose a few tons :-) . BUT the final finale to the Birthday Fiasco was today for the traditional celebration with a Banana Split (for two of course).

banana split There really was a cherry on top but i got carried away and ate it before the picture. We were very reserved and had a scoop of Moose tracks, caramel caribou, and mocha madness. AND we kept it to just chocolate syrup (the fudge wasn’t hot enough).

all gone THE END…. Really!!!!

Once upon a time, we'd cross the river to visit an ice cream place in your fair country -- to Port Huron, MI to be exact. They had a four scoop dish called Idiots Delight. Being unashamedly not too bright, that's what I always ordered. These are good memories. Thanks for invoking.

I am a fiend for nanner splits so it's probably a good thing the Sugar Shack is out of range for me. I'd be puttin' on a few tons!

Pictures like these always look so good but when I actually eat the thing It makes me sick. I really need to give up sugar but don't seem to be able to do that.
Glad you enjoyed it though.

It looks so good. Unfortunately, we didn't have ice cream so we had fresh strawberries sliced over Jamaican Rum Cake instead. ;)

i take two days off and come back to be slapped in my sunday morning face with THIS! now i am craving a banana split, this is soooo beautiful and delish and all that good stuff. i love the DISH as much as the ice cream. i can't even eat a banana, Walmart had NOT bananas yesterday.

Like Sandra I hadn't been reading blogs for a couple of days, and come back and realize I've missed the birthday celebrations. Belated birthday wishes--it's always nice to stretch your special day into a special week, and if I read it right, it appears you reached the dreaded 65th. Welcome to the club, and perhaps you will need another of those banana splits to help you cope with that.....

Yummy! If it weren't 10:00 at night, I would go have some ice cream and choc sauce NOW!

With all this heat we've been having, ice cream is practically a necessity in my mind. :)

I bet that was really yummy. I hate it when the call it hot fudge and it isn't really warm.
