Souperior Meat Loaf

No, that’s not a type in the blog post title. Dry onion soup mix is a featured ingredient in this meat loaf recipe. Grenville now asks for this version every time we have it for dinner.

It was delicious served with homemade macaroni and cheese.

Perfect comfort food for a rainy winter night – or snowy one too.

You know, I haven't made this meatloaf in year and had forgotten how good it was! I must put in a stock of onion soup again!

YOu are so right about posting, comments, and followers. Not only that, I also feel honored to have you as a blogging friend. I just want you to know that! :)
Hugs!

Thanks Mona, the honor and great pleasure is mine as well. Wow, we are certainly a mutual admiration society today and that's GREAT - hugs back to you!

Hi Beatrice....that sounds great to me...when you live alone it is hard to make those kinds of things...if you come back to Maine you can come over and cook some for me!!
Onion soup mix is good for a lot of yummy stuff!!

I've made this meatloaf in the past. It's been a while; perhaps it will be dinner again one day soon! Thanks for the reminder.

I've used dry onion soup mix in a couple of different recipes and it gives the dish a wonderful taste (if I do say so myself!).

Good old fashioned comfort food; doesn't get any better! My own meatloaf is very similar to your recipe.

I have a very similar recipe that I use often. It's so easy to make, and so tasty.

Cooking with soup is a boon. Anyone who has a bear as an avatar and a frog in the title has to be a friend of mine. I love both bears and frogs.

I put onion soup mix in mine too, but only 1/2 package.

Grammie G, next time we visit Maine, we will definitely look you up and just might take you up on that offer as we do like to cook (can't you tell?)

Linda, George, Mama-Bug and Mona looks like we have similar tastes and recipes for meatloaf - there's just enough left for a second dinner.

Hi Far Side, do give this one a try - at least once and let us know if you enjoyed it!

Welcome Diane, we agree about cooking with soup and usually avoid dry mixes except that this one works so well! We love bears (teddys) and frogs as you can tell by our name...penguins too!

AC, yes it is good to cut down on the amount and I do that when using a small amount of meat.

Hi Carole...yes onion soup mix is handy at times!

Yummer everyone in the room around me said. I used to always have this on hand.My mom made a beef and pork roast together with it and it made the best gravy, but I never had that luck.

Steve, the best meatloaf I've ever had combined 3 types of meat: pork, veal and beef. Sometimes, you can even find this mix pre-packaged in supermarkets.
