That butterfly is really into is work.

I call that red bug an Asiatic Beetle. We had them on our Asiatic lilies, but that doesn't look like a lily that it's on.

Don't miss me too much while we're gone. :)

AC, I usually don't see butterflies on the tiger lilies, so this was a first and this was really was getting "into" the lily. The red bug was unknown so I checked it online and it wasn't on a lily, but the leaf of some other plant in the flower bed and there were lots of them. And, of course, you will be missed, you mean you are not going ot post on the road? ENJOY!

Outstanding pictures. My favorite is the very last one. I love the brilliant orange/yellow and the juxtaposition of the deep coloration of the swallowtail. Amazing.

Beaytiful flowers and insects! That meadow beauty stays true to its name! And Your butterflies are so colorful.

Over here the temperature suddenly dropped to 54F and it´s not especially nice at all. But now it´s slowly rising again. But it was the perfect time to take a nap :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

What a fun post this is. So many colorful little animals and flowers to enjoy. The butterfly in the tiger lily is amazing, but I liked them all.

Ginnie if that swallowtail could have gotten any more into the lily, it surely would have - never seen a butterfly so attracted to these day lilies.

Christer, the meadow beauty is a delicate little flower that only opens during the day. I found it growing wild and transplanted into our wildflower area and it has rebloomed every summer, thankfully. And, could you please send some of that chilly weather our way and in return we will send you some heat as it was up to 95F this afternoon.

Thanks Scott, appreciate the comments and the visit. I'll be visiting your blog tonight too.

Another set of beautiful photos! The shot of the ladybug taking flight is very unusual to see, and the shots of the swallowtail are lovely. I'm enjoying the trip through your garden, but I'm glad not to be in the heat you've been having. We've been having a spell of rainy weather and highs mostly in the low 70s. The forecast is for mostly sun for the next week, but usually they are lucky to get it right for the next day.

Thanks Elaine! I have been enjoying showing off flowers and insects and good thing that these photos were taken pre-heat wave. We're still having 90+ daytime highes and could use some of the rain you're getting and the cooler temps too. We wish they would get it right here because recent forecasts of rain haven't happened. Up side is that we can skip the weekly lawn cuttings.
